Thailand 7-Eleven vs Singapore 7-Eleven Price Comparison [2026]

Living here in Chiang Mai, grabbing a hot CP ham and cheese toastie for 35 THB at my local neighborhood 7-Eleven is standard routine. But whenever I travel through Singapore and pop into a 7-Eleven at Changi Airport or around the city, paying 4.80 SGD for a basic sandwich—roughly 125 THB—is always a massive wake-up call.

Across almost every aisle, convenience items in Singapore run 3x to 4x higher in price than what we pay in Thailand.

I put together an itemized side-by-side price comparison of 20 everyday snacks, ready meals, fresh coffees, and drinks across both convenience store networks, converted using current exchange rates (~1 SGD = 26 THB).

Why Is Singapore’s 7-Eleven So Much More Expensive?

A lot of it comes down to real estate costs and local supply chains rather than simple retail pricing strategy:

  • Rent & Overhead: Commercial rents and staff wages in Singapore are among the highest globally. Running a 24-hour retail spot near Orchard Road or Bugis requires a much higher register markup to stay profitable than operating a townhouse-adjacent shop in Thailand.
  • Alcohol & Sin Taxes: Alcohol taxes in Singapore are strict. A bottle of flavored Korean Soju that costs me 85 THB at my corner store here jumps to 12.50 SGD (around 325 THB) in Singapore.
  • Manufacturing Scale: In Thailand, CP All operates huge domestic production networks for bakery goods, ready meals, and dairy. Singapore relies far more on imported ready-to-eat supply chains.

Practical Budget Tips If You Travel Between Both

  • Pack Toiletries & Snacks in Thailand: Stock up on travel sunscreen sachets, skin care, and your favorite local Thai snacks at a local 7-Eleven before heading to Singapore.
  • Skip Bottled Water in Singapore Stores: Paying 1.80 SGD (47 THB) for a 600ml bottle of water hurts when you are used to paying 7 THB in Thailand. Tap water in Singapore is safe to drink, so bring a refillable bottle for the airport and MRT stations.
  • Use the Local Apps: In Thailand, scanning the 7App earns instant ALL Member points toward cash discounts. In Singapore, downloading their local 7-Eleven app often unlocks temporary 1-for-1 drink deals that make high street prices far easier to handle.

So… Yes! Come to Thailand.
